The Lamar Valley

On our way from Cooke City to Gardener we drove through the beautiful Lamar Valley in Yellowstone Park. It was our first little glimpse of The Park...

It was rainy and the valley was full of bison...

I must say now that the last and only time I had been to Yellowstone was as a little girl. I could remember bits and pieces of it. I have wanted to go back for a long, long time. I was not prepared for it at all! Just beyond amazing!!! As I go back through the pictures now, this quote comes to mind...

It is a place where the center of the earth finds an exit and gives us a glimpse of it's soul.
~ Anne Coe (painter 1998)

Enjoying another glimpse,
Alison

P.S. I am including these posts in my "More About Montana" posts because although most of Yellowstone park is in Wyoming, a sliver of it runs through Montana and Idaho!

~SMILE~ I alway like to think of Yellowstone belonging to MT anyway! Beautiful pictures...love the new family picture on the side.

Fun to follow along on your trip, too! Looks like we were in some similar areas. Beautiful pictures. We loved taking our kids to Yellowstone, too.
