No 52 Weeker
Remember last week on my 52 week post, I said I was going to get a picture of myself ironing? Well, I got a really great picture of myself ironing with my heaping ironing pile next to me. Maya got out her ironing board and iron and was ironing her baby clothes right next to me too. I even got my whole ironing piles ironed and hung up. It was a great day!
This morning I went to find my picture and it was gone! I haven't any idea were it went but I can't find it anywhere. So, I'm without a picture this week...
But, I'm not going to fuss about it. I'm getting ready to be with my Mom, Dad, Sister and Brother and families for the weekend! SO EXCITED to see everyone. I may even take a few pictures!
Enjoy your weekend!

The Left-Hand Fork
Had the expedition taken the left-hand fork, it would have arrived at Glacier National Park in the vicinity of present East Glacier. It would have gone over the Continental Divide at Marias Pass- the route that the Northern Pacific Railroad later used, and still uses today. That would have put the expedition in the Columbia River drainage-down the Middle Fork of the Flathead River to the Flathead, then south until eventually making a junction with the Clark's Fork, running north to the Columbia. As the crow flies, this would have been the shortest route, but it would have taken the party through an incredible jumble of mountains and whitewater, without horses. At the least, the odds would have been against the men and their captains.

45 of 52: In My Country Kitchen
There's my cookbook in front of me... do you see it? Yes, my computer!
Oh, and have you gone over to our recipe site yet and checked that out? It's called Country Kitchen Recipes and it has lots of tried, true and delicious recipes on it. Check it out at www.countrykitchenrecipes.blogspot.com.
You know, cooking is not my favorite "chore" in the world. I would much rather iron. But, sometimes blogging about it makes it funner. And, my ironing pile has just reached mountainous proportions! So tomorrow I will attack my ironing pile. Maybe I'll get that in a time delay photo for next week!
Alright, back to the kitchen...
Fun In Motion
I have to admit when we decided to go to the carousel on a recent family trip, my first thought was not "Oh, that will be so fun for the kids!" My first thought was "Oh, what a great opportunity to take some fun pictures!"
My second thought was "Oh, that will be so fun for the kids!"
Yes, it was fun. Riding the carousel and... taking pictures. I think I got a little "carried away" with my rapid fire shooting. Who needs 200 pictures of 45 minutes at the carousel? But it was, well, it was just... fun! Here are my favorites...
Bitty Mommy
There's more than one way to put tights on a baby...

Being oh so gentle...
This little baby gets lots a good and gentle care. And she does get carried around by her leg once and a while too.
I love watching my 5 year old being a "mommy",

43 of 52: Love is Like a Butterfly
As soft and gentle as a sigh
The multicolored moods of love are like its satin wings
Love makes your heart feel strange inside
It flutters like soft wings in flight
Love is like a butterfly, a rare and gentle thing
The multicolored moods of love are like its satin wings
Love makes your heart feel strange inside
It flutters like soft wings in flight
Love is like a butterfly, a rare and gentle thing
It happens when you kiss me
That rare and gentle feeling that I feel inside
Your touch is soft and gentle
Your kiss is warm and tender
Whenever I am with you I think of butterflies
The multicolored moods of love are like its satin wings
Love makes your heart feel strange inside
It flutters like soft wings in flight
Love is like a butterfly, a rare and gentle thing
Love makes your heart feel strange inside
It flutters like soft wings in flight
Love is like a butterfly, a rare and gentle thing
Everyday is spring time
And I am only happy when you are by my side
How precious is this love we share
How very precious, sweet and rare
Together we belong like daffodils and butterflies
As soft and gentle as a sigh
The multicolored moods of love are like its satin wings
Love makes your heart feel strange inside
It flutters like soft wings in flight
Love is like a butterfly, a rare and gentle thing

Forcing Spring-Reposted from February 2008
At a baby shower a while back, we were given pink tulip bulbs for party favors. We were instructed on how to force them. I put them in my bag and found them a couple days later so, I decided to give it a try!
Need Spring? Here's how...
Fill a quart glass jar with river rocks to within a couple inches of the top of jar. Nestle the bulbs in the rocks. Fill jar with water up to just beneath the bulbs but not touching them. The roots will begin to grow down into the water. Continue to add water to jar daily to keep the roots in water.
I started my bulbs on January 1st...
on January 7th
Thanks Heather! I just might make it until spring...

42 of 52: Sew Much Love
I made the blankets with anti-pill fleece and double layered for extra warmth and "cozyness". I was worried that it wouldn't be easy to replace their old fleece blanket but I was wrong. They can't wait to go to bed now.... well, maybe that's stretching it a little.... But they do like them and gave up their old ones!
Have a wonderful Thursday!
