Forcing Spring
At a baby shower a while back, we were given pink tulip bulbs for party favors. We were instructed on how to force them. I put them in my bag and found them a couple days later so, I decided to give it a try!
Got spring? Here's how...
Fill a quart glass jar with river rocks to within a couple inches of the top of jar. Nestle the bulbs in the rocks. Fill jar with water up to just beneath the bulbs but not touching them. The roots will begin to grow down into the water. Continue to add water to jar daily to keep the roots in water.
I started my bulbs on January 1st...
on January 7th
Thanks Heather! I just might make it until spring...

In a world of turmoil, Love made this day a day to remember...
On this day in history, the American navy bombards Iwo Jima in preparation for invasion and the Allies officially win the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Grandpa John is a pilot in the Army Air Corp and is soon to be sent overseas to fight in the war. Then on September 2, Grandma Alice's 24th Birthday, Japan signs the articles of surrender on the deck of the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, officially ending the War. I would say that was a pretty nice Birthday present for Grandma...
