Frustrated! Please help!

Ever since I got my laptop computer I have had a problem. When I edit pictures on my laptop and then view them later on our desktop computer, the pictures appear darker and over-colored. When I edit pictures on our desktop computer and then view them later on my laptop, they appear lighter and washed out. This is a little frustrated after I spend the time to edit them. I am curious what you see. Maybe I can figure out which computer is a truer color/light rendering. Please take a second and do the survey on the left regarding my 4/28/10 post... Wild Horse Island: Part 1.

Thanks for your help!

Wild Horse Island: Part One

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep water, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more.
~George Gordon

The poetry of the earth is never dead. ~John Keats

I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out...
for going out, I found, was really going in. ~John M. 1913

Memory Lane Monday: The Streets of Dresden

Even though I take most of the pictures now-a-days, my husband is the real photographer in our home. He's been at is since high-school when he took journalism and dove head first into learning about photography.

These pictures were a gift he gave to me back in the fall of 1999. No, they were not framed and wrapped up with pretty paper. Instead they were quickly developed at the Walmart Photocenter and I devoured each one as we sat together on the couch in our rented house in town. Then they were safely slid into photo albums that sit in our living-room bookshelves. Now these are memories that are still a gift today.

These pictures were taken in Dresden, "East" Germany when Randy went there for two weeks of work back in the fall of '99. He ended up having quite a bit of time for site-seeing and a good tour guide. He took lots of wonderful pictures, but today I'll just share some of the street ones that I love...

He said many of the windows looked like this...

He saw many buildings like this. They were still being rebuilt from the bomb destruction of World War II...

A narrow brick street and lovely colorful buildings...

The ancient architecture...

This has to be one of my ALL TIME favorites! He said many of the brick streets wound around up the hills and out of sight. The colors are stunning...

Horse and buggy for hire...

Just another fabulous street scape!
Over the last 3 years of blogging, a lot of my favorite posts have been when I posted pictures/stories from the past. Whether 1 year old or 1 hundred years old, these pictures and stories have been like taking a pleasant stroll down Memory Lane. Some of you have enjoyed walking along with me and I have walking along with many of you too!

I would like to make this my new weekly challenge. Every Monday, I will try to post a new "Memory Lane Monday" post. When I was looking for a "Lane" picture to use for my button (below) I came across these pictures of Dresden and knew I had found the perfect material for my first post. You can grab my button below and join along if you wish.

What's around the next corner on Memory Lane?
See you next Monday!

Mack Attack 2010

No, these two brothers didn't take part in our local "Mac Attack" but they did do an all out mack attack of their own this last weekend. They spent all day Friday and half of Saturday out in Ryan's boat in our valley's big lake fishing for Mackinaw (Lake Trout). Here are some pictures from their fishing excursion...

Some of the fish were "in the slot" and they had to release them. They were able to keep 10 from both days. That amounted to A LOT of meat. We enjoyed some on Sunday for lunch and still had a lot left over to put in the freezer.

52 of 52: I Made It!

Here I am* with the kids (and Randy) on the tip-top of an Island! More picture to come!

I made it! 52 Weeks of getting myself in a picture at least once every week! A BIG THANKS to Carin for the great Challenge! I know it forced me to be "in the picture" many times when I would not have thought about it. And it was great to see all you other Mom's "in the picture" too!

I have decided I will not go on with the next years challenge. I would like to focus on a different, personal weekly challenge and have found that one scheduled weekly challenge is enough for me to do above my other daily life posts. I will start that next week, hopefully... I'll need to dust off the scanner for this one!!!

Forever In Blue Jeans
*52 Weeks is a year long challenge for YOU to be in a picture once a week for 52 weeks. We are always the ones behind the camera, this is YOUR chance to get out in front and be in the pictures with your family. We are glad you are joining this challenge. More importantly your family will really enjoy having you in the picture. Thanks for playing along! Oh, you can just jump in now with 1 of 52, you're not getting off that easy! Now go take a picture!

Country Chick!

These pictures were taken back on April 8th. This little Buff Cochin Chick was intended as a pet and it is definitely getting the "pet treatment" around here. No! I don't allow chickens in the house except for once and a while... on the kitchen floor for one-fifth of a second... And this was one of those "onces".
Anyway, she does seem to be a happy little chick and the kids really have fun holding her and carrying her around...

Chicken Update- It's already been 2 weeks since these pictures were taken and the chicks are all feathered out now and twice as big. Just Tuesday evening Randy took them out of the box in the chicken coop and so they have more room and are loving it!

Oh, and the weather has been WONDERFUL for the last few days! Randy mowed the lawn Tuesday evening and we even turned on the ceiling fan last evening! The kids are running free and wild outside after school and we rode our bikes to school this morning!

Not cooped up here!
