Just a Little Reminder...

I took this picture from our front yard on December 11th 2008. I was amazed at that time that even though there was snow in the mountains, there wasn't any on the valley floor yet. That was only a little over 3 months ago.

It's snowing again outside today but I'm reminded that it hasn't been a very long winter after all. Many around the state, Idaho and Wyoming and even other parts of the country have been swamped with winter storms and snow lately. What is your weather like?

Sittin' here enjoying the snow in Montana,

Bluebird Houses-Part 1

On Saturday, Randy and the kids made 4 bluebird houses to put up around the yard and pasture. Lots of measuring and cutting...

and plugging ears!

getting the angle right...

screwing it together...

everyone with their finished birdhouse...

a couple coats of outdoor stain to finish them off...

A Special Visitor

Grandpa came to visit for a few days last week. I love this picture of the girls with him...

...and this one of Colter and Grandpa putting together a lego loader.

We had very special days together...ice fishing, visiting, playing, going out to eat :D, reading books, walks, and Grandpa even took the kids to school one morning.

Thanks for coming to see us -we have some very good memories!

A Late Valentine

This video is for you Mom and Dad...

Spring Fever?

Coming out of hibernation...

A soft place to land...

Still having fun on the snow piles in late March

Swingin' and smilin'

Thank goodness for mud puddles. A sure cure for spring fever!

And this Mom is thinking, "Thank goodness for washing machines too!"

Here I am in the kitchen with my little helpers...

They're Back

On saturday we heard a meadowlark singing in the backyard. I ran to the window and saw it perched in the top of this tree. By the time I grabbed my camera and got back to the window it was flying away so I snapped this picture of Mr. Meadowlark in flight.

Come back soon!

I See Bare Toes!

After taking these pictures this morning, I had to go back in time and look at March pictures from years past. Here is the kids on March 19th 2007.

I see grass.
I see bare toes.
I see how much the kids have grown in only 2 years.

So, let me not wish my life away, as I sit here and long for spring!

Happy Spring!

I just snapped some pictures this morning to record our first day of spring 2009!
It's dirty and cold and wet...
But there is HOPE....

The birds are returning too!

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. ~Anne Bradstreet

Thankyou!

Thankyou all who have stopped by and said "Hi". It's great to hear from you!

We are still trying to come up with a good name for our new blog. Any suggestions out there?

Hope all are having a great St. Patricks day...

May luck be our companion
May friends stand by our side
May history remind us all
Of Ireland's faith and pride.
May God bless us with happiness
May love and faith abide.

Lambing Season

Yesterday, we spent the afternoon at Dale and Bonnie's little hobby farm. Here is Bonnie and the kids feeding 3 little bum lambs in the garage...

Later we headed out to the barn to see the 30 ewes and 70 lambs. Here is a lucky momma with 4 babies!

Kyla holding a lamb...

Walking in with the lambs...

Colter being brave...

And here is a video of the kids in with the lambs...

Dale and Bonnie, you really take "hobby farming" to a new level!!! But you both look like your enjoying yourselves very much! Thanks so much for the special time on the farm!

Happy 6th Birthday Kyle!

Thanks Kyle and family for the fun time at the bowling alley and the fun party!

Love is in the Air!

We had a special time on Friday evening at Emery and Todd's wedding reception. All the best to this happy, sweet couple...

Bright and Beautiful

Randy took this picture of the setting sun. We sure are enjoying the longer days. And any day at all that we see the sun is a really really good day!
Hope your is a really really good day...

In Like a Lion

So far March has given us lots more snow and low temperatures...

Here is Randy snow blowing his path between the chicken coop and the barn in 8 degrees. No recesses last week for the kids at school because of the below 0 temps. Now tonight it is raining and 39 degrees but more snow in the forcast for the week. We shall see what comes of it...

As for us? We are not complaining to much but...we are ready for spring! How about you?

We're Back...

After taking a break from blogging, I have decided to blog again. Here are a few things I've learned in the last 4 months...

-I don't have to turn the computer on every day.
-My days are just as busy as they were before.
-I missed blogging as a creative way to share our lives with friends and family.
-There is life beyond blogging but... blogging does add a little spice to life.

So here is an all new blog with the same address we had before. The last few months in pictures have been saved at www.hugsfromus.smugmug.com. I will still try and update this site as well.

Hugs from us!
