Martha vs. the Serpent

This morning I made this Agave Carrot Cake frosted in Agave Cream Cheese Frosting. It's always fun to try something new and I think this cake turned out beautifully simple! As I looked at it I felt like even Martha Stewart might enjoy looking at it, and maybe even eating it. So I will soon be sharing this recipe with you all on my Recipe Blog, Country Kitchen Recipes and will give you a review of how it tastes after we enjoy it for our special occasion dessert tonight...

I don't even own a footed cake plate but have always wanted a pretty one to display cakes like this on. So I just turned a matching bowl upside down under the cake plate and made my own... Please don't tell Martha... I think it looks pretty nice myself!

BBBWWWAAaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh......................... What is this in my kitchen?!?!.....

How did he get in here?!? HELP!!! help... PLEASE heeeeeelp................

WHAT?,...he wants to sit atop my Martha Stewart cake? Huh?!? I don't believe this!

But, whatever you say Mr. snake, whatever you say....

Ahhh yes, just lovely... What would Martha think of this?!? Let's just keep this between us okay! I'm sure he'll go away after a while... and then we can enjoy our carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

PLEASE GO AWAY!!!

And now, lets just forget that ever happened. Hopefully he won't show up tonight for the birthday party...

But considering my 7 year old little boy wants a snake cake for his birthday, he probably will show up again!

Sorry Martha, but the serpent wins this one...

Happy Birthday Colter!

May I ask you how you get some of your photos to be so big? I always set my pictures at the large size on blogger, but you have some that are even bigger...
Thanks and the cake looks yummy--minus the snake!

You had me going there for a minute...'cause I really HAVE had a snake in my kitchen! I was thinking "man, she's a LOT more brave than I would be"! Yeah, I'd have been passed out on the floor or something. Anyway - back to the cake, it looks beautiful and I look forward to seeing the review. ;)

Hi Dana, the first step is to get a "stretch" template for your blog and it looks like you already have that.

Now when your doing a post, and you download a picture (I'm assuming your using Picasa for storage) go to your "Edit HTML" tab at the top right corner of your post screen and click on that.

Now go down to about the forth line of your codes and you'll see something like "s400" or some other number. All you have to do to get your picture to appear bigger is to go "s640" or "s800". Sometimes you will see 2 numbers in your code like "width 400 and height 300" You can also manipulate these numbers to make your pictures show bigger.

There are some other ways to do it too. I save my pics to smugmug. Smugmug gives me the option of posting larger, high quality pictures.

I use both of the ways above to get larger pictures to appear. Good luck and let me know if you have anymore questians that I may be able to answer.

P.S. The cake was GREAT and the snake has been relocated to the playroom!

Hey I think you might be onto a new diet trick! I'd certainly be a lot more hesitant about eating the cake with that on top to scare me away! Love your creativity :)

Alison, I don't think I will ever be able to make or eat that cake, as I'll have that picture burned in my mind. Yeah, maybe that could be a good diet trick!

What we will do for our kids, huh? Only for your kids would you put a snake on a cake.

The cake looks so yummy! I will have to hop on over to your recipe blog and read your review.

Happy Birthday Colter.
