...was born 5 years ago today!
We all loved her right away!
She was born one month early and was so tiny(6lbs, 8oz.). But she was very healthyand we got to take her home right away.
She spent a few days on the lights...
and lots of time sleeping...
18 days after she was born we took this picture of her with Kyla's baby doll...
Now, 5 years later, she's my little "big help" during the day.
We have been hearing about this magical birthday for weeks now...
"Mommy, will I be this tall when I'm five?"
"Will I get to go to school when I'm five?"
and on and on...

Happy 5th Birthday Maya! Funny that she should think that the 5th birthday is magical, because so did Kinzie. It was always, "When I turn 5", and now its, "Now that I am 5"...it is a magic number in their minds.

Oh I remember that day like it was yesterday, Maya! Uncle Keith and I were working up at Burlingames when someone called with the happy news that you had arrived! And what a joy you have been ever since. Happy Birthday! Wish we could be there to help you celebrate.

Sweet, sweet baby and memories. Five is a wonderful age and yes, I think it is magical. Enjoy her fifth year, she'll grow and change in so many ways. (P.S... you know this, but for a month early, she was pretty big! How much did your others weigh?)
Amy, my others weighed 7'8" and 8'6". Yes, she was "big" but still so small! :) We actually used some preemie and newborn cloths for a couple months. Seems like with my other 2 I skipped right to 3 to 6 month! The doctor wondered if we were a week or so off on due date... Anyway, we were so happy she came when she did and she was so healthy!
