Hunting season is in full swing around here now.

This seems like an appropriate time to share these pictures. They were taken about a year ago when we were visiting Jackson Hole and Grand Teton National Park. These elk have found a place to hang out for the winter on the
National Elk Refuge. For more pictures from our trip click

Good luck to all of you hunters! (and their lonely, forgotten wives...)
I think I'll go shopping now,

my husband, his brother, dad and some friends are hunting in WY as I speak/type. Our '9 day gun hunt' isn't until the 21st.
happy shopping to you!
I think I'd rather be the lonely wife than the wife stuck in the house with the hubby who'd rather be hunting!
I don't have to worry about being a "Hunter's Widow"...but I used to be a "Surfer's Widow" from time to time. Not so much anymore since we're in TX instead of FL. You'll have to share some of your recipes for wild game.
I don't have any idea what that is like. My husband has never been a hunter, in fact, he doesn't like the thought of game meat at all. I grew up on venison, so I kind of miss it, but... those are perfect photos for the rounded edges.
Beautiful photos! I don't have any idea what it's like either, as no hunter here. I do know I'd be planning some girlfriend, scrapping, shoppinjg or just in general "down-time" if that was the case tho!!
I had to smile when I saw these pics - they brought back sweet memories. I sure look forward to you coming again when you can.
Beautiful pix... coming from a girl who doesn't just get to see this sort of thing every day.
