Kootenai Falls on the Kootenai River
(Don, Dad, Johnny, Janette, Duane, Laura, Jewel)
In the beginning of May, we made the journey to Libby to watch these bikers do the STOKR, 100 mile bike ride. We thought it would be a fun family camping trip to try out our trailer for the season and since it was Mother's Day weekend, I thought it would be a fun way to spend the weekend.
Here we are on a little hike through the forest.
This swinging bridge goes across the Kootenai River just below the Kootenai Falls (pictured above).
Here we are at our campsite having supper.
These two enjoyed eating their supper down by the creek.
The next day, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Lyle and Mary's...
Thanks Lyle and Mary!
Back massages for the bikers.
Back home again, it was fun getting out on the roads with our bikes too, as the weather warmed up.
May is the season of field trips and here is Colter on his field trip to the Family Forestry Expo, learning about all the natural resources around us.
For a school project, Maya made a cookbook with food from the Civil War time period. On the day she did her presentation of her cookbook, she made hard tack and brought it in to share with her class.
Three tulips bloomed in the yard in May, and Melita picked them and gave them to me. :)
One day found us at the track for Colter's field day.
Here is Colter's team of boys. Who are those goofy boys on the right?
Maya's class went on a field trip to a nice fishing pond.
And she caught a nice fish for supper!
May is preps time of year...
Just a happy girl!
Here we are having a frozen yogurt treat to celebrate completed Math curriculum for the year!
Last Day of school bike ride.
Then these guys found some new trails for mountain biking so they got out a couple times in May.
Colter and Randy continued making and flying RC planes.
Love this picture of Melita in May.
In all this post and pictures, there's not much about Kyla.
However, the next two posts will be dedicated to her. :)
