Last Saturday found us enjoying a boat ride on beautiful Lake Pend Oreille...
Pend Oreille is the 13th deepest lake in the world, 5th deepest in the United States with maximum depths at 1,150 feet.

It's amazing how these mountains just shoot right up out of the lake. No wonder it is such a deep lake if the mountains continue right down into the water!
Here we are cruising by a submarine launching area...

Headed back to the launch after a big day...
Thoroughly tired out!

Once again your photography is so beautiful! What a fun family time together.
What a beautiful place. You captured it so enticingly, too. I love the last picture.
When Duane saw the picture of Colter "driving" the boat it reminded him of the time when he was boating with the Harris's and one of the boys allowed him to drive the boat. Everything was going along fine until all of a sudden they were heading for the bank and he began trying to steer the boat in another direction to no avail. The boat turned just before it would have hit the bank.......unknown to Duane the steering of the boat was actually being done at the motor not through the steering wheel. He thinks it was probably Grandpa Larry that was responsible for this prank.....sounds like something he would do, doesn't it? He was probably about Colter's age when this happened!
ahh...can we come up there? ;) Beautiful!! I love looking at your blog! Thanks for sharing snippets of your life with us.
Looks like a fun weekend. So neat to see Lane and Morgan and how they're growing. Hope we get to visit up there too sometime. We sure enjoy your photography work - someday you should publish a book! I guess blogging is really like publishing - thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful place! Can't wait to be in the west again soon! --Andrea
You've got amazing scenery there, girlfriend. Gorgeous. I love that bottom picture of the rocks and the water. Makes me think of Laura Ingalls Wilder collecting rocks in the pockets of her dress at Lake Pepin.
