I live in Great Falls but I used to live in Kalispell about 27 years ago. I love your blog.
I'll see if you can guess my name.
Those are absolutely amazing pictures...both of them Alison! Sometimes it a little hard to talk about where I live when it is as an adult that I realized I was born in the most beautiful state! I suppose we might all feel like that.
However...having moved a lot I think I am pretty accustomed to trying to find the beauty that is around me. One thing I do love about where I live is everyday we see the Mighty Mississippi when we leave or return to our house. I also love when this part of the country is covered in full cornfields...something about that too.
I have been following now for about a year I think. I always LOVE your pictures...helps the homesickness!
wonderful pictures Alison! They look really great on those mugs! What a fun giveaway! Hmmm, something about where I live. It's a town, but yet feels like the country. So it's like the best of both worlds... paved roads and open space and deer abundance.
What a great giveaway Alison! I live in a place where we actually have 5 seasons...Winter, MUD, Spring, Summer and Fall...I live in a place where bog boots are mandatory if I want to haul my groceries in from my car and not wreck my nice shoes...I live in a place where I hear coyotes howling at night, owls whooo whoo throughout the day and night, and meadowlarks singing.
I live in a place where I see a mtn everyday throughout the changing seasons...
I live in a place where mtn lions jump on my screens! :)
Darling You! Where my family is dreaming of having a porch is, Wyoming. We dwell just outside of Gillette. Gillette is a small city centrally located in an area that is vital to the development of vast quantities of American coal, oil, and coal bed methane gas. The city calls itself the "Energy Capital of the Nation". We do hope to get closer to the mountains :D The more country living the better :D
What a fun idea, Allyson. I am presently in the great state of MT, although I have also been the the great states of WY, ID & OR!
And I do follow your blog...love your pictures and enjoy keeping updated on your family. Hope you see you at preps!
I forgot to mention how stunning that windmill mug is with the red inside :D Whew whee! YOUR ideas of a giveaway is great!
What fun! I love the mugs!
I live in an area that has no hills...it's flat, flat, flat, but only right where we live. Go any direction for a few miles and you'll find rolling farmland. We're about 30 miles from the capital of Minnesota.
After you left a comment on my blog awhile back, I added you to my bloglines feed. It's fun to check in!
What gorgeous photos! and you are so cool to do a give-away! I also don't think I've ever mentioned how much I love the name of your blog. It fits so well, & just says it!
and I am a regular reader :) I love stopping by your place to see what's new, I always leave with a warm feeling!
So I forgot the requirement on where we live! :) I'll add it to this one (I posted on my blog)
We live in NE--where the weather is always changing. Heat, cold, rain, wind, tornadoes. If you don't like it, wait 5 minutes, it will change. I've lived briefly in Wyo & NV, but otherwise been a NE girl all my life. I can't quite imagine anywhere else being home. We're in the process of moving to the country, and I can't wait!
Awesome pictures and giveaway Alison. What a cute idea. We have already had daffodils here, tulips and now we are enjoying the lilacs! I love the early spring here!
love the pictures!
I live in Wisconsin where we have 4 beautiful seasons even when winter ends up being way too long! :)
I do check out our blog every once in awhile. I always enjoy your photographs

I'm a regular.. I LOVE your postings/pictures! It's neat to find out we have more in common than blogging. (friends, faith and a love for 'montana')
We're are bouncing between 2 states (TN and WI) In WI.. we live a couple miles from small town. I LOVE the country, but with convience not too far off.. the pine trees.. the space.. it's home!
I'll add a link to this giveaway on my 52 wk post! I'd love to win! awesome prizes!! :)
Alison, I love your blog and seeing all your pictures. It is great seeing pictures of family - since we are related on both sides!! I follow your blog regularly - even though I don't always comment. I see you have other followers from Wisconsin - even some Iknow. What a small world it is. Hope to see you at the family reunion this summer.
We live in sunny, oh wait, rainy Oregon! :) Love to watch your blog...
We do follow you on Bloglines... Yours and Mountain Memories, and Times 2 Treasure...
Hi Alison! For a little while longer I live in the southern part of WY midst another range of mountains.....and then will be moving to your state! :)
I do come to your blog frequently and enjoy being reminded of the simple joys of life. I love the recipes you share & also sometimes I just come to listen to your playlist while I'm doing dishes :)
Hey Alison, I also posted about your blog contest on my blog!
Also I am a follower. You are on my blog list!
A chance to win Alison art? I'd love a mug as a daily reminder of you and your welcoming front porch. :) Sweet giveaway!
Happy blogiversary! I can't say I've been with you from the start, because I started blogging after you. But I can say that I haven't missed a post since I found your blog. Love it! Thanks for all you share.
Feeling a little like a comment hogger here, but I blogged about your giveaway. :) Hmmm... now more people will come and comment and lessen my chances of winning. Maybe that wasn't such a smart idea.
These cups are wonderful - great idea! I live in the country in the state of Minnesota - near the prairies, the lakes, woods and farm land. It is beautiful here!
If I wasn't a follower before I sure am now -- your pictures are wonderful... I'll be checking in often!
Wow Ali-girl, 31 posts in one day!!! I'm not surprised though - you do such a wonderful job on your blog and its always enjoyable to stop in and visit, even though I just live down the road.
Two of your followers will be lucky to receive your wonderful blogiversary gifts ~ they're very nice!
MaryAnn
Love your pictures! They are really awesome.
We live in TN and have become friends with your friend Heather.

Great idea & so sweet of you....love your pics & what a better way to enjoy them than w/ a cup of hot coffee :) Hope to see you all soon!
Oh now... I've been missing out. Not on such things as giveaways, but all the lovely things you've been doing this past little while. Love, love, love all the things you're doing with the pictures. That red umbrella post was pretty sweet.
Something about where I live? The roof leaks. But now it's fixed. So hopefully no more raining INSIDE the house.
a giveaway? that is such a great idea! but, then, you are full of them! i drink a ton of tea so mugs are always great....
i live near a great zoo ...a big river...sort of remote but near a huge city...2 gardens going in this year...enjoy your blog! keep it up!
We live in the Lone Star State - the only state to enter the United States by treaty instead of territorial annexation!
Happy 3rd! What a wonderful giveaway idea. The mugs are beautiful.
Apparently, I live close to where the windmill picture was taken, though I'm not sure where they are. But I'd love to have the mug with the picture to enjoy my morning coffee!
p.s. I've long been a follower of your blog....love it! and yours was part of what inspired me to start my own blog. I enjoy this way to keep a journal, and I'm inspired to keep it up because I know it's another way to keep in touch with friends and loved ones, and I know for some it's a little connection to home. thanks for all you share!
Hi, it's me again ! :) For chance #3, I mentioned your giveaway on my blog!
Hi, this is a great idea! I happened on your blog from someone else's a while back--but I can't remember who? I live in a place where it is about an hour to the nearest stoplight, but 5 minutes to the Scapegoat Wilderness. Congrats on the blogiversary, it's well worth it, isn't it? I frequently look back at my own website to compare weather and happenings.
Where We Live...there will be thousands of acres of sunflowers growing this year. We will begin planting in the next Month! They are so beautiful when in bloom.
Everytime we get on we check to see if there is anything new on your Front Porch. Being rather new to gardening I love to see your pictres! If you ever want pictures of sunflowers and windmills side by side just come visit!
Just posted a note about your giveaway! How fun! Can't wait to see the winners!

We both enjoy checking your blog often. Don't know if this is just one chance per family or what but we live right across the street from the windmills. This is a great and fun idea.
Your cups are beautiful. I am really into windmills since visiting Nebraska. Often I sit and look out my front room window and see the tops of these windmills and watch them turn.
So it would be a thrill to hold a cup in my hand and look at them close up:)
just found your blog...love those mugs, they turned out great!:0) i live in the midwest...currently enjoying some lovely spring weather...no snow for a change and it's glorious!:0)
Wowzers! This idea was definitely a hit!(: We always love checking in and seeing what you're up to.
Was so grand to see you all this weekend - always fun to be with your family.
Love-
your sis-in-law from the next state west(:
Not sure if I'm an "official" follower (need to check that), but you know I come here on a regular basis! I love your site and enjoy my chats with you.
I'd love to be entered.
Came over to let you know I blogged about it. Hugs!
I just blogged about it on my site, so here's entry #2!
Hi Alison, our location is near some of your family's heritage. We live to the west of your Grandpa John's home, but east of where your Grandma Alice was raised. Windmills and sunflowers abound in our area, but now the wild crocuses are starting to bloom. (fun to see you are up to 60 comments on here)
We have been following you since before your first "lurker check"!! (Was that in the fall of 2007?) We also have you on our bloglist and in Google Reader...
I think you know where I live ;)
Beautiful pictures!! We were in MT last year on our Way to AB Canada... and home again! GNP is stunning! =) anyway... love your blog! and I would love to win this giveaway! =) I live in Olympia Wa... Happy Blogiversary. I just celebrated my 2nd one. I love blogging. I found your blog from Darcie's. Those mugs are beautiful. I just found out that I live 20 minutes from one of the most dangerous cities in the world. I was excited to know that. Of course I am kidding...about being excited.
Heard about your giveaway at Darcie's. I would follow you for another entry, but then if you don't follow me back, I might cry like a baby. So...
I live in Wisconsin. You know, cows, cheese, all that crap. I've been begging God for 20 years to get me out of this cage, but so far all He says is "Do not pass go. Do not collect $200 dollars."
Howdy neighbor! How about a last minute effort to get in on a chance for your delightful giveaway!
Wow! What an amazing response to a fabulous idea! I'll add my comment for a last minute chance to win as well. Love ya!
just posted on our blog...I love windmills and have a small collection, smile!

Following up, reading and admiring ~ faithful follower :D
Hi Alison, getting in on the last min. entry for the giveaway. Follow your blog regularly, saw the huge response to this one and thot... "me too" your sunflower pix has been one of my favorite since you first posted it.
D.
I grew up under the Big Sky on the prairie, with wheatfields all around! Now I live in a college town where there's a great farmer's market and lots of bikes. My state has mountains and desert, snow fall and heat waves, rain and drought, beaches and redwoods, palm trees and roses, hippies, farmers, loggers, and city slickers! My family is nostalgic about windmills. There are sunflowers all around me in my current state, too! The mugs you so artfully designed are beautiful.
I've been a follower of your blog for a long time. We aren't related, but have relatives in common! I do love the way you portray family life in the country.
I have been reading your blog for quite awhile now. I love your pictures and getting to see a few people that I know.
I live near the Pacific ocean.
