I live in Great Falls but I used to live in Kalispell about 27 years ago. I love your blog.

I'll see if you can guess my name.

Those are absolutely amazing pictures...both of them Alison! Sometimes it a little hard to talk about where I live when it is as an adult that I realized I was born in the most beautiful state! I suppose we might all feel like that.

However...having moved a lot I think I am pretty accustomed to trying to find the beauty that is around me. One thing I do love about where I live is everyday we see the Mighty Mississippi when we leave or return to our house. I also love when this part of the country is covered in full cornfields...something about that too.

Darcie said...

I have been following now for about a year I think. I always LOVE your pictures...helps the homesickness!

wonderful pictures Alison! They look really great on those mugs! What a fun giveaway! Hmmm, something about where I live. It's a town, but yet feels like the country. So it's like the best of both worlds... paved roads and open space and deer abundance.

What a great giveaway Alison! I live in a place where we actually have 5 seasons...Winter, MUD, Spring, Summer and Fall...I live in a place where bog boots are mandatory if I want to haul my groceries in from my car and not wreck my nice shoes...I live in a place where I hear coyotes howling at night, owls whooo whoo throughout the day and night, and meadowlarks singing.
I live in a place where I see a mtn everyday throughout the changing seasons...
I live in a place where mtn lions jump on my screens! :)

Darling You! Where my family is dreaming of having a porch is, Wyoming. We dwell just outside of Gillette. Gillette is a small city centrally located in an area that is vital to the development of vast quantities of American coal, oil, and coal bed methane gas. The city calls itself the "Energy Capital of the Nation". We do hope to get closer to the mountains :D The more country living the better :D

Carolyn said...

What a fun idea, Allyson. I am presently in the great state of MT, although I have also been the the great states of WY, ID & OR!

Carolyn said...

And I do follow your blog...love your pictures and enjoy keeping updated on your family. Hope you see you at preps!

I forgot to mention how stunning that windmill mug is with the red inside :D Whew whee! YOUR ideas of a giveaway is great!

What fun! I love the mugs!
I live in an area that has no hills...it's flat, flat, flat, but only right where we live. Go any direction for a few miles and you'll find rolling farmland. We're about 30 miles from the capital of Minnesota.

After you left a comment on my blog awhile back, I added you to my bloglines feed. It's fun to check in!

What gorgeous photos! and you are so cool to do a give-away! I also don't think I've ever mentioned how much I love the name of your blog. It fits so well, & just says it!

The J's said...

and I am a regular reader :) I love stopping by your place to see what's new, I always leave with a warm feeling!

So I forgot the requirement on where we live! :) I'll add it to this one (I posted on my blog)
We live in NE--where the weather is always changing. Heat, cold, rain, wind, tornadoes. If you don't like it, wait 5 minutes, it will change. I've lived briefly in Wyo & NV, but otherwise been a NE girl all my life. I can't quite imagine anywhere else being home. We're in the process of moving to the country, and I can't wait!

Feeling a little like a comment hogger here, but I blogged about your giveaway. :) Hmmm... now more people will come and comment and lessen my chances of winning. Maybe that wasn't such a smart idea.

These cups are wonderful - great idea! I live in the country in the state of Minnesota - near the prairies, the lakes, woods and farm land. It is beautiful here!

Oh now... I've been missing out. Not on such things as giveaways, but all the lovely things you've been doing this past little while. Love, love, love all the things you're doing with the pictures. That red umbrella post was pretty sweet.

Something about where I live? The roof leaks. But now it's fixed. So hopefully no more raining INSIDE the house.

p.s. I've long been a follower of your blog....love it! and yours was part of what inspired me to start my own blog. I enjoy this way to keep a journal, and I'm inspired to keep it up because I know it's another way to keep in touch with friends and loved ones, and I know for some it's a little connection to home. thanks for all you share!

Hi, this is a great idea! I happened on your blog from someone else's a while back--but I can't remember who? I live in a place where it is about an hour to the nearest stoplight, but 5 minutes to the Scapegoat Wilderness. Congrats on the blogiversary, it's well worth it, isn't it? I frequently look back at my own website to compare weather and happenings.

We both enjoy checking your blog often. Don't know if this is just one chance per family or what but we live right across the street from the windmills. This is a great and fun idea.

Anonymous said...

Your cups are beautiful. I am really into windmills since visiting Nebraska. Often I sit and look out my front room window and see the tops of these windmills and watch them turn.
So it would be a thrill to hold a cup in my hand and look at them close up:)

Hi Alison, our location is near some of your family's heritage. We live to the west of your Grandpa John's home, but east of where your Grandma Alice was raised. Windmills and sunflowers abound in our area, but now the wild crocuses are starting to bloom. (fun to see you are up to 60 comments on here)

Happy Blogiversary. I just celebrated my 2nd one. I love blogging. I found your blog from Darcie's. Those mugs are beautiful. I just found out that I live 20 minutes from one of the most dangerous cities in the world. I was excited to know that. Of course I am kidding...about being excited.

Deborah Ann said...

Heard about your giveaway at Darcie's. I would follow you for another entry, but then if you don't follow me back, I might cry like a baby. So...

I live in Wisconsin. You know, cows, cheese, all that crap. I've been begging God for 20 years to get me out of this cage, but so far all He says is "Do not pass go. Do not collect $200 dollars."

I grew up under the Big Sky on the prairie, with wheatfields all around! Now I live in a college town where there's a great farmer's market and lots of bikes. My state has mountains and desert, snow fall and heat waves, rain and drought, beaches and redwoods, palm trees and roses, hippies, farmers, loggers, and city slickers! My family is nostalgic about windmills. There are sunflowers all around me in my current state, too! The mugs you so artfully designed are beautiful.
