Country Chick!

These pictures were taken back on April 8th. This little Buff Cochin Chick was intended as a pet and it is definitely getting the "pet treatment" around here. No! I don't allow chickens in the house except for once and a while... on the kitchen floor for one-fifth of a second... And this was one of those "onces".
Anyway, she does seem to be a happy little chick and the kids really have fun holding her and carrying her around...

Chicken Update- It's already been 2 weeks since these pictures were taken and the chicks are all feathered out now and twice as big. Just Tuesday evening Randy took them out of the box in the chicken coop and so they have more room and are loving it!

Oh, and the weather has been WONDERFUL for the last few days! Randy mowed the lawn Tuesday evening and we even turned on the ceiling fan last evening! The kids are running free and wild outside after school and we rode our bikes to school this morning!

Not cooped up here!

To the MamaChicka,
Thanks for the chicken update. The photos are sooo cute! We decided against more babies this year....maybe next year. The hens we have are excellent layers for now, but guess they will get old in a year or so and we will need to get them replaced.
