Kyla's Trip

Kyla got back on Tuesday night from her road trip with Grandma and Grandpa. She had lots of stories to tell and pictures to share. Above is a picture taken in Kearney, Nebraska near the Archway Monument. Below is inside a covered wagon at Ft. Laramie, Wyoming...
Chimney Rock stands 300 feet high on the Nebraska skyline. During the middle 19th century it served as a landmark along the Oregon Trail, the California Trail, and the Mormon Trail, which ran along the north side of the rock. It is visible for many miles from the east along U.S. Route 26.*

On Sunday she got to meet Maxine from Making Country Memories and some of her family including her 2 youngest daughters Kaela and Kara! Maxine wrote about it here.
Here is a slide show of more of her pictures (unedited). It's fun to see the trip through the eyes of a 9 year old... (move mouse pointer onto pictures to see captions)

And between her and Grandma, they brought home plenty of nice things for brother and sister...

Thanks for sharing your trip with us Kyla! You've been to a place I have never been.

Lovingly your Mom,

What an awesome trip Kyla got to take with her grandparents! Glad you took pictures, Kyla, so the rest of us can see some of the places you got to experience.

Kyla, this post reminds me so much that you are no longer a "little" girl! To head out accross the country, to take such quality pictures, to share so much with your brother and sister - it tells me I need to wake up and smell the coffee! You are a young woman now - brave, smart, capable and kind! I hope you can cross the miles to Wyoming sometime soon, so we can spend some time together!

Kyla, it was so nice to meet you and your grandparents! It would have been wonderful to get to spend some more time together, to get acquainted but we're happy for what we got. Come again, and bring all your family! :)

To the young traveler and her Mommy,
How cool to take such a great trip with the grandparents. Glad it was out to our part of the prairie even tho we did not get to meet this time. i hope you all come out someday.
That huge buffalo was once in our shop, because that is the kind of stuff we do. Now it stands just a few miles from our house!

gkey,

That is totally amazing! I checked out your website one time about your Public Art sculptures from Raimie's blog-VERY COOL! I didn't connect the buffalo though. Too bad they didn't get to meet you-you were so close! We will definitely have to take a trip that way some day!!! I knew that their trip was going to take them very close to a lot of people I would LOVE to meet!

Like I've said before... "I LOVE it when life happens that way!"

Smiling all over with memories... that's a trip I used to make with my grandparents but we came from the south and east, instead of the north and west. I'm so ready for another western vacation.
